SO, I pre-ordered this MESS the other day, and I’ve been told I can technically pick it up tonight at 9. Which means that we’re all gonna be STRANDIN’ in this gross wasteland pretty soon.
It sounds like a big theme of this game is going to be cooperation, so I thought a thread where we can all come together and talk about what to do, how to do it, and maybe some gameplay stuff we missed along the way.
Gamespot has a good tips video on getting started here:
Also, since it seems like a big part of this game is helping each other out, maybe we can pass along some PSN ids to see each other’s industry in the game! Let’s get the Waypoint Strand Union going, ya’ll. Let those likes GO FREE.
Also, spoiler tag any story stuff!
My PSN is GoldenJoel if anyone wants to add me. It’s the one with the purple and blue dragon picture.
Was going to get this release day but I’m thinking I might hold off until Black Friday and see if there’s any flash deals for it. That said, I get paid in a fortnight so may just plump for it then.
While I’m looking forward to playing this on PS4, I’m more excited to see whether or not someone finds a way to disable the forced perspective piss cam on PC lol
I’m currently waiting out a rainstorm that has lasted at least twenty minutes so far with no way to skip time yet, and now I don’t ever want to hear someone complain about botw’s rain again.
I’m sfphilli on here, though idk if there’s any way to search out IDs to make appear. I haven’t seen one yet.
This game is absolutely terrified that you might not get the metaphors lol. Kojima will never make movies because if he did, the people in charge would rightfully make him hire an editor.
Neat so far. Lots of explaining systems the first few hours. It almost has me excited to go out and give likes. Pleasantly surprised that most of the early trailer stuff has been from the first two chapters or something.
Right now I love going out with my package and trying to cross a river or whatever, climbing a mountain. That’s cool as heck. I’m worried the BTs will get annoying after a while, but maybe you learn to handle them better as familiarity grows. They don’t seem very dangerous, mostly just that they slow down the pace.
Mostly looking forward to when people that actually don’t care about it or plan on playing it will stop talking about it or calling it the weirdest thing ever and and a yikes and a whoosh and shit like that, because it doesn’t seem that weird at all. It’s just not combat focused gameplay in a AAA game.
How come in the first few missions some pretty excellent indie music tracks were playing and since then I’ve had nothing? (I’m still in Chapter 1.) Is there a radio hiding somewhere in this UI or are these scripted somehow?
